Hi! I'm Paige. I am a junior at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia majoring in Human Health and minoring in Nutritional Science. This blog is going to be all about different myths circulating out in the world regarding nutrition (and I guess different foods in general).
I suppose that I should tell you a bit more about me, and how I stumbled onto my love of food, nutrition and holistic wellness. When I was 8, my family moved abroad to Paris, France and my family quickly adopted the French tradition of good food and good cooking. I had amazing experiences going to French farmers markets, attending birthday parties at the Cordon Bleu, and trying all the different tastes of not only France, but also Europe.
So, from early on I have always had a solid foundation for appreciating food and cooking.
I have always loved to cook, bake and eat, but it was not until my sophomore year of college at Emory that I started to think about nutrition as more than just a way to eat, and thought about it as a possible career. I started out by taking introductory nutrition classes, and now I am taking more advanced nutrition classes, and the impact that our food has on our bodies never ceases to amaze me!
Outside of class, I spend my time on the exec board of Alpha Phi Omega (the National Service Fraternity) mainly working on the publicity for our chapter. At my apartment, I am usually found cooking dinners for my roommates and friends. While at home, I spend a good majority of my time taking long walks with my labrador retriever, Buttercup.
Buttercup and I getting ready to drive to the dog park!
After graduation, I am interested in pursuing a career path in health marketing or maybe corporate wellness (who knows!) Keep coming back for weekly updates to learn more about nutrition myths and more about what the media is spewing out about how we all should eat!
Best,
Paige
